Listen "Philip Wandawa - Our African Religious Past & Present in Christian Perspective"
Episode Synopsis
This conversation is with Philip Wandawa, principal of Kampala Evangelical School of Theology in Kampala, Uganda. We discuss how African Christians today view their culture and religious past in the light of Scripture. Philip especially notes the widespread belief in God the creator. He looks at how it is important to affirm what was already good and present within African cultures regarding their belief in and response to God. But he also explains why this belief was not salvific and still stained by sin, and that Africans need to hear about Christ to correct misunderstandings about God and to hear the good news of salvation. Interviewed June 23rd, 2025. (80 minutes)
