Hypocritical or Helpful A legalist can point out what's wrong with you but doesn't provide a way toward righteousness... They restrict but rarely ever refresh. They guilt you without gracing you. They shame you without showing how they found hope. God's word teaches... instructs us with truth the turns us around by pointing out the error but it corrects and leads us to a way of righteousness which equips us for every good work. To make us wise for deliverance... to partake of the divine nature of God. 2 Tim 3:14-17 and 2 Peter 1:3-5 You're going to judge and I'm going to judge...there's no way around it...but will our judgement be corrupt or righteous. That totally depends on who or what is filtering our judgment. The Scriptures do teach us to judge not, from our own corrupt resources, but it also teaches us to judge righteously. And we must be honest with ourselves. There is no righteousness apart from Him.
