Listen "Aquageist- New Single "Drag""
Episode Synopsis
Post-hardcore Sacramento artist Aquagest is releasing a new single titled ‘Drag’ on November 26, 2021. This will be their first release in over a year. ‘Drag’ was produced and recorded by Jesse Mancillas of Rosa Mortem located in Sacramento, California. This track features unique vocal layers combined with a careful array of guitar tones using an intentional pick of pedals.
On “Drag,” Aquageist confronts life’s uphill battles while leaving the direct interpretation up to the listener. Originally about addiction, the band thought to expand to any hardships as nearly everyone is fighting some kind of battle of their own. The message of the song can be seen in the album art designed by their own Joe Flores (lead singer; guitarist). Ultimately, the meaning has a lot to do with being pulled down by addiction or hardships and the journey to finding freedom.
