Christ met the needs of those who sought Him in the wilderness, feeding 5,000. But such bread sustains for a day, and Christ wanted to prepare His followers for the bread of eternal life through this miracle which foreshadowed His feeding millions through the last 2 millennia with His Own Body and Blood.
