Episode Synopsis

This is a series I've been wanting to do for a while now, where I get to sit down at a bar with some of the most interesting people I've ever met and they let me pick their brain on the things they're passionate about and their life experiences.
I'm SOO pumped to be kicking off the BeerCast Sessions with Amnestie Lillian-Tate VerDuin, who is a featured artist at the 2021 Grand Rapids Art Prize.
Amnestie is a 27 year-old female artist, educator and small business owner living in Grand Rapids, MI. Conceptually, she uses string manipulation to show social communication, or the lack of, cutting ties, or reconstruction. In this year's Art Prize, her artwork (shown below)  being larger in size, alters the viewer's pathway to activate the surrounding spaces and encourages the possibility of new interactions.

You can find her work at:
Sep 16th - Oct 3rd at Monroe Community Church in Grand Rapids.
