Nick Martinez has a week to decide if he wants to accept the qualifying offer from the Cincinnati Reds or reject it. If he accepts, Martinez will stabilize a very top-heavy group of starting pitchers for the Reds. If he rejects it, the Reds will have a difficult time replacing Martinez and will have to either sign a free agent or make a trade. The Reds bullpen, on the other hand, has a pitcher who is ready to step up and get some important outs for Cincinnati next year.
