As a professional school counselor for 24 years, Sandy has counseled students in the aftermath of four school shootings, plus four suicides in eight months at a fifth school. Now as the Executive Director of the nonprofit B.I.O.N.I.C. Team (Believe It Or Not I Care), Sandy empowers students in schools worldwide to create caring school cultures by reaching out to struggling peers to let them know they are seen, they matter, and they are not alone in order to prevent bullying and suicides. Sandy is an international speaker, has written three books, was a “School Counselor of the Year Finalist” for the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), and has won two Lifetime Achievement Awards.
