“Lived Through That” is the companion podcast to my book where I look at influential musicians of the 80s and 90s and where they are today. On this podcast, we’ll delve deeper into a single pivotal moment in the lives of some of the artists I feature in that book, as well as other artists I love and admire. This week, we’re doing something a little different.  We’re talking to music journalist and author Annie Zaleski, who has contributed to The Guardian,  NPR Music, Rolling Stone, and many others. She’s written best selling books on Taylor Swift, Lady Gaga, and my personal favorite – her 33 1/3 book on Duran Duran’s "Rio."   Her newest book is titled “I Got
You Babe: A Celebration of Cher,” which will be in bookstores on May 6,
2025.  Annie talks about her work on this book, her 33 1/3 book on Duran Duran's "Rio," and her early days in music journalism.
