Listen "Why Light and Truth?"
Episode Synopsis
In Psalm 43:3–4 (CSB) the Psalmist prays, “Send your light and your truth; let them lead me. Let them bring me to your holy mountain, to your dwelling place. Then I will come to the altar of God, to God, my greatest joy. I will praise you with the lyre, God, my God.”
Notice that his desire for light and truth was not motivated by a desire to get things “right” or to have a theologically tidy mind. It was for the sake of drawing near to God, being led, as it were, further into friendship with him and joy in him.
And I’m convinced that it is out of that intimacy, that God then teaches us all that we need to know, that is, all that is essential to fulfilling his purposes for us, purposes we so desire to see fully accomplished.
