To love is to value.
The more you value (love) something the more motivated you will be to sacrifice anything or do whatever it takes to have it or keep it in your life. It will increasingly fill your thoughts.
God the Father supremely values friendship with you.  Therefore he is boundlessly motivated to sacrifice anything or do whatever it takes to have you or keep you as his friend. You are constantly on his mind.
Because Jesus supremely values his friendship with the Father, he too will sacrifice anything or do whatever it takes to have you or keep you in friendship with the Father. You are constantly on his mind too.
Friendship with God the Father comes through friendship with Jesus, and the evidence that you are responding to his overtures of friendship is more and more peace and joy filling your heart regardless of the ups and downs of daily life.
