Episode Synopsis

Luke 16:10 (NET) — Jesus taught that “The one who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and the one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much.”
So let’s ask: What is the smallest responsibility in which one can be faithful or not?
It would have to be something over which we are most responsible at all times and in all circumstances. And what could we be held more responsible for than our own individual thoughts?
It seems to me that in the Scriptures God reveals what it is that we must prioritize in the use of our thoughts. First, our friendship with Jesus, and second, our helpfulness towards others.
With that in view, here are some questions to consider: are the things I think about whenever I am free to think of whatever I’d like in some sense revolving around my friendship with Jesus? Do I routinely think about how precious the people in my life are to him? Am I preoccupied with how I might be able to help them know how much he cares for them?
Our overall capacity to manage any big responsibilities in life is being decided right there, in the deep recesses of our minds — in what we do with our thoughts.
