Listen "Progress"
Episode Synopsis
One of the exhortations the apostle Paul gave to the young minister, Timothy, in 1 Timothy 4:15 I think is applicable to all us regarding the truths of the Gospel. It reads, “Be diligent in these matters; give yourself wholly to them, so that everyone may see your progress.”
Notice that it’s not satisfactory to the Apostle to just have Timothy think he’s making progress in his walk with God and feel good about himself. He wants everyone watching Timothy’s life to see it.
Here’s something I recently read, “Don’t be self-deceived into thinking you are making progress if nobody can see it.” (Andrew Bernhardt)
So if the people with whom you have routine contact were interviewed as how you’re doing, would they be able to say, “oh, you bet, I see progress all the time”?
