WCBN DJ Frank Uhle aired a Fortune Records Special on his show Radio Lama Fa Fa Fa in April 2021.

Hour one is Frank's interview with Michael Hurtt, co-author with Billy Miller of the stunning new Kicks Books history of the label, Mind Over Matter, and hour two is an exploration of highlights from its nearly 400 releases from the late 1940s to the early '70s.

From the raunchy R&B of Andre Williams to risque hillbilly records, doo wop, rockabilly, Link Wray-style instrumentals, fiery gospel, and more, Fortune documented the music of Detroit in a way that no other label did, all with a raw down-home edge.
