Listen "Room for Improvement"
Episode Synopsis
We are back from our hiatus with host Lyndon Pryor, Interim LUL President & CEO, who is joined by Dr Cynthia Bethel Hines. Bethel Hines is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Shawnee Christian Healthcare Center, an Associate Professor at the University of Louisville, and President of the Louisville Coalition for Black Maternal Health.
The duo talks about the dangers of maternal health locally and nationally, and how often a birthing person's concerns are dismissed by healthcare professionals. The LCBM mission is to support Black birthing persons, promote health equity, and improve maternal outcomes. The group's annual Chocolate Milk March is a 5K walk/run Sunday 8/27 from 11 am - 3 pm.
