Barnes is also a Lead Fellow in the League's Project Kilimo Urban Farming Initiative supporting Black urban farmers in Louisville’s West End community. Barnes also hosts Nerd Nite a monthly event held at Gravely Brewing where three presenters give 15-20 minute presentations on a subject they are passionate about.
