Our addiction to distractions robs us of joy and peace. We turn to distractions to avoid our lives, to distract us from what's really going on. Often trauma influences our ability to rest as well.
During the holidays especially, we become overly occupied with busyness that isn't always necessary, and turn a season which is meant to birng us joy and hope into one that exhausts us. We can delight in God's joy through worship and being present as we rest in Him. We then allow ourselves the rest we so deeply desire and deeply deserve.
This season ask yourself: What is stelaing my time and energy and how can I better prioritise what brings me joy and rest? We encourage you to be present in the moment and take the time to slow down in order to pursue joy and rest.
