Listen "When the Screens of Separation Fall (leviticus: tzav)"
Episode Synopsis
The entire journey is about trusting and fueling our perceptions of reality with emunah/faith rather than fear. There is this curious verse in the Torah that reads:'אֵ֗שׁ תָּמִ֛יד תּוּקַ֥ד עַל־הַמִּזְבֵּ֖חַ לֹ֥א תִכְבֶּֽה'“A constant fire shall be kept burning on the altar; it shall not be extinguished.” There is beauty in the imagery of a constant fire burning on an altar for Hashem, but Chassidic teachings take it one step further. The Alter Rebbe shares an incredible lesson from the Maggid of Mezeritch who taught that bringing a sacrifice to the altar is only one component of the offering; kindling the fire underneath it is another key component, which correlates metaphorically with extinguishing negativity. The Maggid read the verse not as lo (no, לֹ֥א) tichbeh (extinguish, תִכְבֶּֽה), but as extinguish (tichbeh, תִכְבֶּֽה) the no (lo, לֹ֥א), extinguish the negative. One of my favorite teachings of Rebbe Nachman is, “Ein shum yeush ba’olam klal!” Meaning, “There is no such thing as despair in the world at all!”This doesn’t mean that it’s not okay to feel sad, or low, or disappointed; it’s simply a reminder that the darkest of night has a purpose always. That despair is meant to send us back to source, which makes it life-giving and not life-draining. This is truly a blessing. The entire journey is about trusting and fueling our perceptions of reality with emunah rather than fear.As we approach Pesach/Passover, and the burning of the chametz/leavened bread, which represents arrogance and the evil inclination, the yetzer hara. In Talmud Berachot, the yetzer hara is depicted as the “yeast in the dough”, puffing up a person’s pride. In this ritual, we’re meant to free ourselves, to ‘burn’ the chametz that holds us back from seeing and living in full truth, from being fully connected to the Infinite Light. “G-d does not dwell in… a fragmented place” - The Zohar.Tap into faith, trust in your purpose and its journey, and Extinguish the Negative!🏊🏼♀️ Dive deeper in my ‘𝐋𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐞’ book, “𝚃𝚑𝚎 𝙴𝚡𝚘𝚍𝚞𝚜 𝚘𝚏 𝙳𝚊𝚛𝚔𝚗𝚎𝚜𝚜.” Get your copy on Amazon (https://amzn.to/3uvdfxw) 📚or read it online @ https://lightofinfinite.com/when-the-screens-of-separation-fall/ 📺 Short Inspo: Extinguish the Negativehttps://youtu.be/plb4EMwhdLI 📺 Story Time: When the Screens of Separation Fallhttps://youtu.be/1hxfQaS3p1gStay *Safe*, & Shabbat *Shalom*!Love y'all!- @ErezSafar 🪬🤍🧿🕊️
