Episode Synopsis

Sermon Transcript:And so let's bring up our very own Shepherd pastor, Larry Floyd,y'all are too kind.I've been excited to be here, and I'm more excited, but now that you all have somebody that's coming, you know, I've been here since September, and you guys have embraced us. I'm so thankful for Life Church. We love you guys. We're going to miss you. I've known that my daughter is planning on staying here, so you've stolen her heart.I got things other, other things to do. I already have engagements to preach at other churches. So thank you for loving us and memoi for just so grateful for the time that we've been here. But we still got work to do, right? We have today, and we got two more weeks. I'm not going to we're not going to lay down. We're going to keep running today. You're going to be yelling and screaming and all doing all kinds of things this afternoon, eating chicken wings and pizza and whatever. Listen,we have much more to scream and yell and be happy for in a super Savior like Jesus amen.I couldn't wear red or green today, so I wore purple. And no, I'm not a Vikings fan. Sorry, George. My team wasn't playing today, so I decided I'm not supporting either one of them. We're going to have people over our house. Just like a lot of you, are going to have people over. There's going to be a lot of things said and screaming and yelling. And so this morning, as we interact with each other through this sermon, don't be afraid to say, Amen. Hallelujah. Stand up. Clap whatever. If God is speaking to you, let him know that you love him.Because I know when Derek comes, there going to be a lot of that he's got. He's going to bring a lot of energy. He That dude is young. I was just thinking about this. Now I want you to listen to me this. This is all for free. I won't charge you for this.I got to spend this weekend with some college students on Friday night and Saturday. And I was amazed that the the things that they're thinking about bringing to the church, as ministers, as leaders. And then I started thinking last night I was on an ordination service for the new pastor at First Baptist Church in Clinton, Texas, 37 years old. The pastor at Del Sol is 38 years old. Ariel Martinez, the pastor at Life Church, is going to be in his 30s. That's coming. The pastor at Coronado is 34 years old. I'm telling you, man, God is doing something through these young people across our city, and they're going to be here for years to come. There's something happening right now in the city of El Paso in the surrounding area, young people are stepping up and surrendering to the call. And if you're here this morning and you hear God calling, you don't be afraid. You come to this altar. We're going to talk about offering. You're going to give him all that you are. God is calling you to do something amazing for him. Listen, you don't have to have all the details. That's the cool thing about God is He just says, Go. He says, Come to me, and then I'll send you out to do what you've been called to do. And so a lot of times, and I say this with young people, but I was amazed. Sometimes they want to know all the details. I'm not going to answer the call until I know everything. They want. It all laid out. Show me. Show me. Show me. And he says, Follow, follow, follow, and then I'll show you. Show you. Show you. You got that. You heard Pastor Derek. If we could do it on our own, if we could figure it on our own, we wouldn't need Jesus. He says, Follow me, and that's all we need to know. And as we're following him, he's going to show us what that means. Never in our pastor's life, he has no idea what's going to happen here. He followed his call to come here, but he hasn't stood here yet one other time, I should say that he did december 29 but most of the time, he's going to be figuring out his interaction with you guys through this, that's what he said. In the next few months we're going to go now. He said he didn't drink coffee. I I don't know, can pastors not drink coffee? I'mgoing to have to have a serious conversation with that man.Maybe I'll take him and give him a cold brew or something, and fake about you know, but he said, I want to interact with you in the next few months so we can get to know each other, so that he can know his flock. I can tell him a lot of things about you all already, good things.Today's sermon series, we've been going through this thing called heaven on earth, through the sermon on the mount that Jesus gives us instructions for our lives as we walk this earth. And so today, I'm going to be talking about heart check. We're going to check our hearts this morning according to God's Word. Now we all need our hearts examined from time to time, physically and spiritually. But listen, we're at church. We're going to be checking our hearts spiritually this morning. I know that we go to the doctors, and sometimes we don't get good reports about the physical ailments happening to our hearts. He says, this, this, this, and I get all that, even if God heals whatever's going on in your life, it's still temporary. On Earth, did you hear me? Physically? All healings are temporary, because this is not our home.So if we don't check our hearts spiritually, we could miss out on what God wants for us. And so I want you to listen in and lean into what God has to speak to you this morning. So what purpose does a heart exam do for us that are here this morning? Listen, pastor, I'm here at church where he's in my hands, worshiping, singing, listening, praying, offering, giving all of that. I'm already doing all that stuff. If we don't check our hearts, we could miss it. You see, sometimes we get involved with doing all the stuff, and we forget to say yes to Jesus. Do you hear me? And so we have to kind of, let's, let's sit back and let's lean in and say, What do you want for me this morning? First John 319 through 22 says this. This is how we know that we belong to the truth, and how we set our heartsat rest in His presence, if our heart condemns us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything, dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God, and we receive anything we ask because we keep His commands and do what he what pleases him. Isn't that a beautiful verse. So this morning, if, if you have something going on in your life, and you got some condemnation going on in your life, great God is greater than your condemnation. God is greater than what's going on. But if you got your heart clean, everything is good, then praise God too. Now you get to do whatever he commands of you, right? That's why we're going to check it out this morning first. Corinthians, 1128, says everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and the drink from the cup. We did that last week. We shared in communion, but we're supposed to examine ourselves before we partake in that it is biblical to examine our hearts. We must know what's going on on the inside. You see, we want to stand before a holy God and ask anything according to His will. Amen.So with that in mind, let's prepare our hearts. Let's spur each other on with this. These scripture texts, Matthew, chapter five, stand with me. Verses 21 through 26so glad to see people with their Bibles open. If you don't have a physical Bible. You can open up your app and watch because you know, I want you to. I want you to. I want the words of God to speak to you.Romans, 1017, says, Faith comes by hearing the Word of God and by hearing we respond to it.You have heard it saidto the people long ago, You shall not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.Listen to what Jesus says, But I tell you that anyone who is angry with a brother or sister will be subject to judgment again. Anyone who says to a brother or sister, racca is answerable to the court, and anyone who says, You fool will be in danger of the fire of hell. Therefore, if you're offering your gift at the altar and there, remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First, go and be reconciled to them, then come and offer your gift settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you're still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. Truly, I tell you, you will not get out of there until you've paid the last penny. Father, we are grateful, and we understand not all scripture is full of roses and beautiful colors, Lord, but we receive your Word this morning, thank you for speaking to us in Jesus name. Amen. You may have a seat.I know tough verses, right?Just by reading that y'all have been going. What's pastor going to say this morning about those verses? Right?I just want to, I just want you to know if we believe in the word of God from Genesis, one one, all the way to the maps in the back of your Bible, right? Not just revelation, 22 but all the way to the maps. We have to understand all of the Word of God is for us, and especially when it comes from the words and the mouth of Jesus. So he's telling us in verse 21 he says, You have heard it said. He's not criticizing the Old Testament at all. He's aiming his words at our understanding of God's view of who we are.You see, he says You have heard it said, believe with all your heart if you murder, you're going to pay the price. Is that, Pastor, I've never done that good, good. I'm I'm happy for you. Never physically murdered anybody good. We can believe with all our heart that commandment You shall not murder has never.Come into our lives, because we've never done that. Our understanding isn't how scripture is to be understood. You see, we are to lean on his understanding of what the Scripture tells us, because when we start leaning on our own understanding, then that's all we see. I'm not a killer. I'm not a murderer. I'm not going to prison. I remind you that Jesus Himself, we learned last last week, is the fulfiller of the law. He came to fulfill the law, not abolish the law. Then the when the law is understood from that point on, who Jesus is. When we read, You shall not murder. And your conclusion is, I'm never doing that. Instead, it should be this. I better make my sure that my heart is right with Jesus in order not to get to the boiling point to ever do that, that's really what our response should be to the law. You should not murder. And I was like, Man, I hope I never snap, because that's what happens in a lot of people's lives when it comes to physical murder. They may not be that person, but they come to a point where it's just they snap, and then the moment they do something, Jesus says, You have heard it said six times on the Sermon on the Mount. Matthew 521 Matthew 527 Matthew 531 Matthew 533 Matthew 538 and Matthew 543 he's allowing us to examine our hearts and check the understanding of who God is when he spoke these things long ago. These are called the antithesis of the Sermon on the Mount. These are the six You have heard it said. So when he says You have heard it said he knows that we have misunderstood what God was trying to teach us, and so he's come to set the record straight.Physical murder is subject to punishment under the courts of law. Can we agree on that we live in Texas? Come on,they don't play. You might even be put to death in Texas because you murdered somebody. That's one of the options that they have. It's a very stringent law here in our state. In verse 22 Jesus said, Anyone who holds anger towards anyone is subject to judgment. Anyone you me,for whatever reason, when we hold anger towards somebody, we're subject to judgment. You see, anger rots our hearts. It turns us into somebody we're not. That's why we need a spiritual checkup. The doctor says, Jesus says he's the doctor. He tells us to turn away from our rotting ways, not to think about those things we can resent people in a legalistic way, as we understand God's law. That's why anger is brought up in in Scripture many times. Did you know that in the King James Version of the Bible, 234 times the word anger is mentioned. So it's a big deal to God and to Jesus. If you're an angry person, I urge you, I know Jesus consoles you, to get help. I don't know what that looks like, to at least talk to somebody that is a loving person and say, Look, I'm struggling with this. And go to God and He can help you with that. Handling anger is an important life skill. It really is. Christian counselors report this, let me I'm going to read this.50% of people who come in for counseling have problems dealing with anger. Half the people that walk under the doors have problems dealing with anger. And anger can shatter communication and tear apart relationships. It really can. It runs. It ruins both joy and the health of many so sadly, people like to justify their anger, right? Well, you never you don't know what they did to me, Pastor.I know what they did to you. They sinned against you. We all know it happens. But when it's not up to us to take out our own revenge against them, we have to be careful. Thankfully, God's word contains principles on how we deal with anger in a godly manner. Someone read this? This is James chapter one. If you got your Bible, I'm going to wait for you to turn there. James chapter one, and it says 19 through 25 James, chapter 119,through 25if you're there, say I am.Wait a minute. Another minute. I don't want you to miss this. These are important words. If you don't know this, James was Jesus's brother. He didn't believe that Jesus was the Messiah. He grew up with him. He said he's just my brother, until he was raised from the dead. And James changed his attitude, and he wrote the book of James. And this is what he says, My dear brothers and sisters, take note of this. Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires. Therefore this is the solution. Get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, and humbly accept the Word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word and so deceive yourselves.Do what it says. Did you hear that? See, we listen to a lot of things, but if we don't do what it says, we deceive ourselves. Verse 23 anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in the mirror, and after looking away at himself, goes away and he immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom and continues in it, not forgetting what they've heard, but doing it, they will be blessed in what they do.Now, those scripture verses are things that we need to put on sticky notes in front of our mirror. So when we look at the mirror, we can look at that verse and go, Well, I better start looking at what God really wants to say. You see, anger opens the door for so many more implications, like pride and eventually, unhealthy hatred. It just does. You have heard it said, Do not murder. Murder is just a physical thing. It's just a physical thing. You can kill somebody's spirit or their reputation. You can murder somebody's spirit or reputation. You can kill it. Our actions are so powerful, but man, our words are deadly. So be careful when you open your mouth. We have to be better at containing the verbiage that comes out of our mouth. Do not murder. And this verse 22 when it says this word racca, this is a, this is a word that comes from the Aramaic and it means it comes from the word Rekha, which is R, E, Q, a, and it's derogatory meaning empty headed.Well, that's a nice thing to say to somebody. Now I don't want you walking out of here today and going calling somebody rocket because they don't know what it means. You've been told what it means, okay, means empty headed. It insinuates a person's stupidity or inferiority. So don't use that word. It was offensive, but that's why Jesus brought it up. They were using that word telling people you're stupid, you're empty headed, I'm better than you. Jesus warned us that such a word describes someone who was equal to the murder and deserving of the penalty of the justice of law. Wow. Thank you, Jesus. Right. Don't you like Jesus? He just sets the record straight all the time. He just goes. Listen, I know you think you're real good, but let me really tell you how you're not real good. If you do this, then this is how you're supposed to live. Our words have meaning. It can kill people inwardly. It really can. Jesus equates the term Raqqa with fool. If you look later in the verses, he calls it a fool. It's a it's a derogatory slur. It's like calling somebody a word that's derogatory, maybe to the person or to their ethnicity or their race. That's how bad he's talking that this was, and he said it's deserving of hell.Well, now we're getting somewhere spiritually, right?Did you know that, as pastors, we really don't really like preaching about hell.We know that it's not very popular with the masses, because we want to believe that God would never send anybody to hell. We really like to believe that, right? I wish that were so butlet me tell you a real truth, God doesn't send anybody to hell. Your sin sends you to hell because he's given you a way out. I want everybody to come to know me. He says, In First Peter, he says, I'm slow to anger. Second Peter, 39 he says, I'm slow to anger. And I want everybody to come to a day of repentance where they'll come and say Jesus is Lord. So he doesn't want anybody to go. He doesn't send anybody, but he says it does exist. It is a real place you will go there if you do never confess Jesus as your Lord. Ididn't get no whooping and hollering or yelling or amens on that one,it's tough to listen to the truth, isn't it.Listen Mark 942. Through 49 listen to these.Mark nine chapter Mark chapter nine verses, 42 to 49these are all Jesus's word as as well. If anyone causes any one of these little ones, those who believe in me, to stumble. It would be better for them to if a large millstone were hung around their neck and they were thrown into the sea.If your hand causes you to stumble, cut it off. It's better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go to hell, where the fire never goes out,and if your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off. Better for you to enter life crippled than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. Better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and to be thrown into hell, where the worms that eat them do not die.The fire is not quenched, everyone will be salted with fire. Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how could it may be salty again? Have Have you salt among yourselves and have peace with one another. Now I want you to hear me do I don't want anybody going to cut their hand off tonight because they did something stupid. That is not what Jesus means. What he's saying is, if you're going to kill people's reputation, if you're going to be full of hatred and anger, he said, It would be better that you get rid of whatever is going on in your life, because if you don't, you're going to go to hell.NowJesus is what saves us from hell, and when we have a relationship with Jesus, thank God. We can go and ask for forgiveness. We can bring our offering. That's what we're going to be talking about in just a little bit. We bring our offering and we say, God, let me offer this part of my life.I have this going on in my life, and I want to get rid of it. And he says, Thank you, finally, but he says, make sure you're right with everybody else around you before you do that. So that's what he's saying. You're not You're not literally going to cut your hand off. You're not literally going to cut your foot off. But he's saying it would be better as long as you can get to go to heaven instead of going to heaven with two good feet or two good hands. Got my point. Got his point. Verses, 44 and 46 are not included in our text. If you look at John chapter nine, and I always like to explain this to people, we just don't have those verses in our earliest manuscripts or copies of copies. And so instead of them putting those verses in there, we don't want to assume what they thought was said. And so those verses are missing in John and Mark chapter nine. So I want to give you, I want to give you an illustration. Abraham Lincoln used to write two letters when he was angry with somebody. One was to rid himself of how he felt really. He wrote that letter and he wrote it down how he really felt about that person. The second one was full of tact and grace, and the first one him that he wrote it down. He would tear up, and he would give him the second one. And I thought, what a great opportunity for us as as a people, when we're angry with somebody, let's write our thoughts down. Don't send him. Send it to him in a text or on Instagram or whatever you do I'm talking about, just write it down, even if you do it in your notes, and then write one that you would really want to say if you were if Jesus were there watching you write it, so that way you can get rid of you've already got it, kind of got it out of your system. That's what Abraham Lincoln used to do. And he said I would just tear that one up, and then I would give him the second one, because I wanted to be graceful and say, Hey, I think we're off track here. We might have miscommunicated or something. Amen. How are you controlling your anger? Are you on your own? Are you seeking the help of Jesus and other good people around you? It's always good to seek wise counsel those that are following Christ. So that was check up number one.Anger is murderous. This is check up number two, reconciliation before the offering.Jesus continues now with our offering, our offering is not necessarily financial, that is an offering, that is a formal offering, but we offer ourselves, we offer our our talents, we offer our service, we offer our gifts. We offer our families. In two weeks, we're going to offer our kids, we that's an offering. And so Jesus continues, and he says, if we're offering if he says, if you're offering yourself, your service, your resources, Jesus is not going to accept if your heart is not right. So you can come up here and at the end of service and offer your offering and have something wrong with somebody that's even in this auditorium, and he says you need to get that right first, so that your offering can be acceptable. I'm talking about semantics. I'm talking about how we relate to God. You see, we want to relate to God and act like we can do whatever we want outside of our relationship with God. Because, listen, well, that person that I'm mad is not even a Christian who cares, right? And it helps me. So I, you know, it just helps me, because I gotta be mad at somebody. You ever notice people, some people just ain't happy, unless they're mad. It's likehow you walk through life, just mad all the time, angry, upset, disappointed. Life is too short. How many of you all are here over 60? Not a lot, but some, right? Yeah, man, life gets there quick. All of a sudden you go, man, I got four grandkids, and I got granddaughters, 21 years old.You know, I just thought yesterday we were just having kids. It's just amazing how Time Life is too short to walk around angry, to walk around in hatred. We gotta get right with God and with each other, so that we can offer our sacrifice of praise to Him. Amen. So we.Can offer it to him. Verse 23 therefore, if you're offering your gift at the altar, and therefore remember your brother or sister has something against you, leave the gift there at the altar. He didn't say, offer to God. He says, Leave it there and go be reconciled, and then come back and offer your gift.Whew. We got some work to do, don't we?I always go, Really, do we have to? I can't I just worship Jesus, leave that, all that other stuff alone? Because he wants all of you, not some of you. He wants everything that you are. He wants to remove that anger from your life. You see, we hope deep grudges. We hold him for way too long, even within our own families, and we wonder why we sense God can be found nowhere we look around and go,I don't see you God, because you've got these deep seated roots of anger and hatred towards even family members. We can't offer our way, our fellowship and our way back to God, because he can't be bought. You can't buy God.There's no amount of money that you can give that's going to do away with what's going on in your life. Do you hear me? You have to come to God cleanwhole. That's why we offer everything. The most amazing thing about our offering is if we do it this way, done right, offering brings us into a relationship with the Holy Spirit, and we see the Spirit move in our lives. A lot of that's been going on here at Life Church, people's lives have been changed forever. They're in relationship with Jesus now because they walked into a service, and they heard the word of God, and the Holy Spirit touched them, and they left their offering at the altar, and they said, I want Jesus in my life, and a lot of them are going to get baptized next week, because they want to tell you, this is who I am. Now, I'm not perfect, but I'm walking with them. Now.We give our offering to a king, and sometimes something happens during that exchange. There's something that happens during an offering time we're made more aware of who we are in Christ. You feel me this morning, when we come before a holy God, there's an exchange that takes place because our sinful life is put on the back burner, and our holiness, before God comes to comes to pass. Listen, I know that you're not holy. You're holy. In Christ, none of us are good. It says in Romans, not one. We say things like, Oh, he's a good person. No, he's not. Oh, she's good, you just don't I know she's not. Either he's goodand he makes us good because of himself. The awareness of a good, of the good is a good thing and sensitivity, it comes manifested into a point of action. You see, that's what we try to do every Sunday, is we try to exalt God's word upon his people, and there's this exchange taking place, and really it's a spiritual battle. Do I or do I not answer the call to Jesus? Do I do or not answer the call to ministry? Do I Do I not go get reconciled to my brother or sister? Am I going to make my life right with Christ, or am I just going to stay the same and pretend everything's okay. You can't live that way and honor God. He says, Do not bring me that offering.Leave it there and go get it right, and then come back. You seewhether it's your time or your talent or your treasure,God cares about what's going on in your earthly life. He says you have this much time to get it right, because this is not our home. We're not going to be here forever. We're going to be with Him forever. And so this is what I call the training ground for heaven. This is the practice time the coach is putting you in the game and said, Go do what I've called you to do. But I don't know how good. Let me show you. And we get to do it in the in the Spirit of God. You see, when you have an issue with not been treated poorly or not been dealt with correctly, then even our offering becomes a stumbling block for those around us, because they know us. You know outside here. People know who we are.You go to that church. I didn't know you went to church. I ain't seen no church in you. You know what I'm talking about, right? You're out on the job site, and you're out of your in your family, and I have a clue that you even love Jesus, because you don't live for him.Who's going to change your family and your dynamics, and your your co workers, if not you,if you have Jesus in your life, he's he said, This is your sphere of influence. It's up to you to change those dynamics. And no.It's not easy. It's hard difficult. Jesus is asking us to make it right so that the offering can be right. He says, take care of the situation and then come back and see me.Okay, Dad, you know, right? We know that from our earthly fathers, like our fathers, go, hey, you know I love you, kid, I love you, but you gotta go do this, and gotta make it right. You gotta get on the phone and ask for forgiveness, or do whatever you need to do, and then come back and we'll get it. We'll we'll come back together, amen. And that's what God is really asking us. Like, hey, just, just go do that. I mean, even if they don't receive it, you did your part, right? But don't do it with a heart that's not there. Do it with a whole heart. Do it with something that says, You know what? I want to really try this. And if, if they don't receive it, I can't help that. I can just offer them up to God. You see, there are times where we do, like the Bible says, We shake the dust off of our feet and we move on,because they just don't receive our word.I get it,those are and that's hard, because we can spend so much energy and so much time trying to fix something that we have no control over. And Jesus says, Try it, try it again. It's okay. And just step back and pray about it, and just offer them to God. You see that might be your offering this morning, Pastor, I've already tried. They don't accept it. I've tried again. I get it. That's fine. Then just come up and say, You know what? God, I give them to you. I can't do it. The only one that's going to be able to change them is you. And we just we're thankful that God will do it, maybe not in this time, in our time, but in his time,he uses this word reconciliation, and that word means to restore, a restoration, bringing a relationship back into Right, right standing. You see, we need restoration. We need reconciliation. Amen. We need it in our lives. When we do reconciliation now, our offering is accepted to God.You hear me?Do you need reconciliation today? I know I do,and I'm walking with God. I'm trying to do all the right things, but we all need reconciliation with somebody or something, or even with God,you may be here this morning so far from God,he's waiting for you to come home.He hasn't abandoned you. He hasn't left you. He hasn't stopped loving you. He hasn't stopped forgiving you. He says you can come home anytime you want, the front door is always open. It's never locked. With Jesus.Don't go another day with trying to offer your way back to God's grace and pretending nothing is wrong. You start today. Restore your relationships today. Restore your relationship with God. Inconclusion, I want to say this, forgiveness is how we get back in the game. Maybe you've been out of the game.Pastor, I want to get back in the game.I know we have a starting quarterback, we have this receiver, we have that full back, we have the linebacker, whatever, but pastor, I'm I'm eager to get back in the game. Have you been practicing? Have you been getting stronger? Have you been seeking forgiveness?Forgiveness is how we get back in the game. We are to be a forgiving people. We were bought with the forgiveness of our sins. Amen, he bought them on the cross of Calvary, and he says, I forgive you.Forgiveness should be natural to all of us that follow Jesus. It should be something that we do.It all comes down to this. Are you going to believe Jesus on howyou go about understanding? Scripture. Are you going to continue to understand Scripture the way you want to understand it? At least I haven't physically killed somebody.I may have murdered somebody's reputation, but physically I haven't killed anybody. I'm good to go. That is not what the text says you and I'm going to I'm going to say this statement, I'm going to say it three times, because I want you to hearit, to be forgivenand not be a forgiver is impossible. To be forgiven by God himself and not be a forgiver is impossible. If you've been forgiven by Christ, you have the ability to forgive people. There's no way that you can offer your sacrifice and your offering to God. He deserves better. Amen.It. He deserves better than what you're offering. If you're a if you're forgiven, you can be a forgiver. It is possible. You can do it.God deserves your all this morning, soI want to ask you, seriously,to think about your own heart. So close your eyes for me. Just appease me for a minute.Think about your heart.Where are you at?What's going on in there, what has happened recently that has driven a wedge between you and whoever, or even you and God.Why can't that be fixed? If he said, I'll fix it, not you, but he said he'll do it.And just imagine yourself. Picture yourself, visualize yourself going through whatever those motions are to get that right with God.You see, God wants to restore you back in the right relationship with Him,but you gotta do it the right way.So this morning, if you're here andyou say, Pastor, I've never truly understood what it meant to have a relationship with Jesus. I've been coming to church. I've done all these things, but today I want to ask him to be the Lord of my life. I pray that today will be the day of salvation. As it says in the Bible, the Word of God says in Romans, 10, nine, if you'll confess Jesus Christ as Lord of your life, that you will be forgiven. If you believe that God raised them from the dead, He says, you will be saved, not should be. Could be. You might be. He says you will be. Andif you've been far from God, he's always with arms open wide. He says you're welcome to come back anytime. So this morning, let's get our offering right.Let's make sure we're not doing something that we think is right, and we know, according to Scripture, is not right. So Father, we thank you, God for this opportunity this morning. And I know there will be many that come this morning giving their offering of sacrifice in their lives and their hearts. But God, let's make it right.God, if there are people in here that need to reconcile with each other, that you would do it, not because they want to, but because it's the right thing to do. You see, God, we don't even want to please you,but we know we want to because you've forgiven us. We are bent towards sin, and you're begging us to be bent towards you, and so God, this morning, I pray that even a glimpse of heaven will be seen.We love you, God. We thank you. God. We are amazed by what you want to do with our lives. And we pray this in Jesus name. Would you stand to your feet?
