She began her career with community provider agencies supporting families and their children with developmental disabilities. It was her work of connecting families to resources and services that led to her deeper interest in the system of care for behavioral health in North Carolina. She spent several years in a managed care setting working with community collaboratives across WNC to identify gaps and barriers within their community around behavioral health systems while working together to build bridges, find solutions, advocate, and provide training. She is now Program Director and Resiliency Educator at Resources for Resilience (tm) where she continues her support in wellness and resilience across NC. She has been dedicated to community education and awareness efforts with topics such as suicide prevention, child abuse prevention, ACE’s/trauma and resiliency. She is a certified Mental Health First Aid and Youth Mental Health First Aid instructor ; a certified Darkness 2 Light: Stewards of Children facilitator ; and a former QPR: Suicide Prevention trainer. She has provided training and presentations to a diverse group of audiences in communities across NC from law enforcement and first responders, faith-based communities, families, schools, health providers, and community stakeholders.
