This week I sat down with John Stephens, CEO of BOMA, a non-profit organisation focussed on eliminating extreme poverty among women in Kenya. BOMA’s mission is to provide the people & governments of Africa’s drylands with economic inclusion programs that increase resilience to multiple crises. Ultimately, their goal is to end extreme poverty in Africa’s drylands.The BOMA project has to date impacted hundreds of thousands of lives. Since 2009, BOMA has seen over 350,000 people graduate from extreme poverty, they have empowered over 59,000 entrepreneurs and they have helped over 19,000 businesses launch.John joined the team at BOMA after serving on their Board of Directors for more than a year.
