Janine came to me suffering from what’s called “baby bear syndrome.” It’s when you get hired in a junior position or supporting role, are really good at it, and then can never seem to break out of it.
As Janine describes it, she gets pigeonholed and not given new opportunities because she’s so good at the thing they hired her to do!
