Listen "US National Parks to raise fees for international tourists"
Episode Synopsis
International tourists will be charged an extra $100 to visit the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, and nine other national parks. The Trump administration will begin what it calls "America-first entry fee policies" on New Year's Day. Foreign tourists will also see the price of an annual parks pass jump to $250. Residents of this country will continue to be charged $80.
It comes as national parks deal with the strain of a major staff reduction and severe budget cuts, along with recovering from damage during the recent government shutdown and revenue lost during that time.
