Two big water companies in the region are joining forces.
Camden-based American Water and Bryn Mawr-based Essential Utilities are merging to form a combined water and wastewater public utility company.
In a joint announcement, they said the new company will be valued at $63 billion.
American Water CEO John Griffith will serve as CEO of the new company, and Essential Utilities CEO Christopher Franklin will serve as executive vice chair of the board.
The companies said there will be no change in rates for customers.
As for workers, the companies said they will continue to honor union contracts with their current terms.
