Listen "Federal employee in custody following active shooter hoax at NJ's largest military base"

Episode Synopsis

A person is in custody after an active shooter hoax caused a lockdown at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in Burlington County, New Jersey, Tuesday morning. According to investigators, a civilian employee of the federal government made a false report about an active shooter at the base.

The base went into lockdown at around 11 a.m., with all personnel ordered to take cover. The lockdown was lifted just before noon. A high-ranking law enforcement source told NBC News there was a training exercise going on when the gunshots were reported. Someone called 911, and that triggered the lockdown.
