ORIGINS VI: Promise
And God said, “This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come. (Genesis 9:12) NIV
Rainbows. We all LOVE rainbows.
They capture something of our imagination and more often than pop up when we least expect them. I mean, I’ve never heard a weather forecast say: ‘light rain showers, strong breeze with a chance of … rainbows…!’
Rainbows remind us of God’s promise of permanence. The permanence of his proxy and providence NO MATTER WHAT. Isn’t that just the most amazing truth when we do find ourselves in and amidst a storm?
On the other side of disaster and chaos and death… we live in a New Covenant era with Christ as a symbol of our final freedom…
