This episode of Kernels kicks off with a hard look at Vomitoxin. Ohio Corn & Wheat Executive Director Tadd Nicholson explains what it is, the scope of the problem in Ohio, and how the Corn Marketing Program is fighting the disastrous fungus. Spoiler alert: No, it is not called Vomitoxin because it makes you vomit. Also in this episode is a few words from Scott Haerr, a grower from Clark County who serves on the Corn Marketing Program Board of Directors, and Wendy Osborn, the Director of Market Development at Ohio Corn & Wheat. The two were a part of the group who went on a trade mission with the U.S. Grains Council to Southeast Asia in January. If you listen closely, the team gives a hint to where you can find a last-second Valentines Day card, just in case you need one!
