This week’s free growth-mindset coaching:  THE FLOW STATE.    GROWTH MINDSET.  In life, formulas exist to enable you to build on your current strengths and to discover new avenues for a more enriched existence.   Mihaly Csikszentmihaly psychologist and founder of the flow state said “Flow is an optimal state of consciousness. We become so involved in an activity that the ego falls away. Every action, movement and thought falls inevitably from the previous one, your whole being is involved.”  I have been fascinated by the flow state since I was young, I used to compete in senior school in the 400 and 1500 metres and ran for my local athletic club.  The only memory I have about racing is that no one else was around me.  In racing everything just settled into place, I don’t even think I was that good, it just felt free.  At the time I didn’t realise that when I was running I was in the flow state, completely zoned, but I do remember the feeling and sometimes find myself in that place when I am writing Kathryn’s Corner.  Highly successful people around the globe understand and leverage the concept that activation of the pineal gland especially in the flow state facilitates the actualisation of their desires. The flow state is an unpolluted focused mental disposition highly conducive to productivity.  It is however something more than that, scientifically it has been related to manifesting through the pineal gland or the manifestation centre of the brain, this regulates the circadian rhythms, which in turn effects mental clarity and emotional balance, intuitive abilities.  In clinical studies people assessed when in the flow state show to be functioning at an optimum physical level in terms of brain function and the firing of connectors, heart rate, respiration, and so on.  Your body changes on a cellular level when you are in the flow state.  Let's put it into practice: AWARENESS:  Literally bringing your awareness into the brain brings about a feeling of centring oneself to begin the journey into the flow state.  As in a meditation “being here now” moves you closer towards your goal and of what you’re wanting to create.  Bring your awareness into the brain. Meet with your thoughts. ACKNOWLEDGE:  Flow is fragile!  Deep focus cannot be switched on like a light-bulb. APPRECIATION:  Invite in gratitude for being fortunate enough to contemplate reaching the flow state, after all you’re not so strung out right now that you barely have the opportunity to enter a more peaceful zone, in gratitude you can find your HAPPY😊ACTION:  Environment. Using sounds around you wherever you are will help.  Visualise. See the end goal. Feel it too. This is intention setting. Time. Even if you have a time-frame or a deadline, put that to one side. Come back to the brain and meet your thoughts.  Senses. You can use music. Aroma and breathing techniques.  Find your ‘flow triggers’.
