Russell Crowe is a New Zealand-born actor, film producer, and musician who has become one of the most recognizable and respected figures in the entertainment industry. He was born on April 7, 1964, in Wellington, New Zealand, but raised in Australia.
Crowe began his acting career in Australia in the 1980s before moving to the United States in the 1990s to pursue his Hollywood career. He gained international fame for his roles in films such as "Gladiator," "A Beautiful Mind," and "Les Misérables," earning critical acclaim and numerous awards and nominations, including an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role in "Gladiator" in 2001.
In addition to his acting career, Crowe is also an accomplished musician and has released several albums as a solo artist and with his band, 30 Odd Foot of Grunts. He has also produced and directed several films, including "The Water Diviner," which he also starred in.
Outside of his career, Crowe is known for his philanthropic work and advocacy for environmental causes, as well as his support for various charities and organizations. He has also been recognized for his contributions to the film industry and was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010.
