Thanks for listening in as I continue the discussion on the Evolution series. This week I talk about the evolution of celebration... and JUNETEENTH! Celebrating this year feels a bit different and difficult. With all that has transpired, it has become increasingly difficult to be BLACK in America and enjoy living. I have spent the past months talking, in depth, with my grandmothers, listening to their stories of racism, prejudice, inequality, what life was like (back) then and how they thought that we (America and the world) would have moved so much farther than where we are today. It made me think about my own progress, what I would like to see within my lifetime and even within my kids' lifetime.
