Listen "1Corinthians 2 - Relying on the Spirit"
Episode Synopsis
Send us a textFor who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us. 1 Corinthians 2:11-12But we have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2:16Paul writes to the Corinthians in chapter 2 about knowledge. The Corinthians were a people that valued knowledge and all the benefits it brought. On the contrary, Paul didn't come to them with eloquent speeches and polished arguments. Instead, he simply let the Spirit of God do the speaking and it was powerful! In fact, he focused on the fact that their wisdom was foolishness to God because He knows all and can think things we can't even imagine!I know I've often relied on my own "wisdom" to make an argument on a topic when I should have relied on the Spirit. It wasn't easy for Paul to do it. In fact he said he did it with "great fear and trembling", but he did it anyway. Is it time to rely on the Holy Spirit who knows God's thoughts, instead of our own? It won't come without fear and trembling, but I believe it is.Join me in reading 1Corinthians 2 and be encouraged! Just a Guy and His World
