'FOB", short for "fresh off the boat", is a derogatory term used to describe immigrants of Asian descent that had not fully assimilate into American culture yet. When I first moved to America from Vietnam with my family in 2013, I was a FOB. Things were not the same anymore, it was not easy to get used to American culture and the new environment in the new country. I struggle to figure out my new roles and identities in this country and most of these struggles occurred in school.
