Listen "Foundations of Glory - Pastor Jason - Elgin Campus"
Episode Synopsis
In this powerful exploration of Haggai 2:1-9, we discover a timeless message about building what truly lasts. The returning exiles faced a heartbreaking reality: the magnificent temple of Solomon was gone, and their attempts to rebuild seemed pitiful in comparison. Some elders wept at the sight of the modest foundation before them. Yet in their discouragement, God speaks words that echo through centuries: 'Take courage, work, for I am with you. My spirit remains among you. Do not fear.' This isn't merely about reconstructing a building—it's about understanding that God's glory doesn't depend on grandeur, budgets, or impressive structures. The silver and gold already belong to God. What matters is His presence among us. We're reminded that every act of generosity, every prayer, every seed we plant in faith contributes to a foundation we may never fully see completed. Like those ancient builders, we often face moments when our efforts seem small, when change feels uncomfortable, when we long for 'the way things were.' But God invites us to recognize that He is doing a new thing, calling us to adapt, to trust, and to build on the only foundation that won't shift—Christ Himself. The promise of peace, true shalom, comes not from our achievements but from aligning our hearts with God's purpose.
