Nvidia has unveiled Project Digits, a mini PC boasting a petaFLOP of processing power – approximately 1,000 times more powerful than a standard laptop. This portable device, designed for AI development and data science, houses an Nvidia Grace Blackwell Superchip and offers significant computational capabilities, surpassing those of most desktop PCs. While not as powerful as the world's fastest supercomputers, Project Digits provides substantial local processing power, eliminating the need for cloud-based computation for many applications. Its compact size and projected $3,000 price point target researchers and developers. The device is expected to launch in May.
