Branch flute demo

Listen "Branch flute demo"

Episode Synopsis

In this episode, I demonstrate a Native American style flute I made from part of a fallen tree branch. I used a hammer and chisel to split the branch in half, hollowed out the two sides, drilled finger holes and glued the halves back together. I also glued a small block of wood onto the body of the flute. Traditionally, a wood block featuring carvings of a totem animal are tied onto the body of the flute with leather lace. Once again, this flute is Native American style, because I I am not Native American by birth and did not make this instrument in a traditional fashion. Hosted on Acast.
