I was feeling present, energized, and connected to the chaos and beauty of it all.And then… the other Friday hit. I went in for a cardioversion—hoping to reset my heart out of AFib before my upcoming brain surgery—and it didn’t work. They shocked me five times. I woke up with a shaved chest, a bruised ego, and a rhythm that still refuses to behave. I cried a single tear. I felt bummed. But I also clung to a strange little joy: the return of Damian Lillard to Portland.There’s a lot going on.
