Listen "History of Israel-Strange Bedfellows: Israel & France 1952-1956"

Episode Synopsis

Though it may seems strange to us today, back in the early years of the State, France was Israel's best-friend, supplying the Jewish State with military aircraft at a time when even the USA declined to do so.

Since the Soviets were supplying Egypt with modern weapons, France's support was vitally-needed.

This lecture describes the background for this "Strange-Bedfellows" relationship, which was vital for the Israel of the Ben Gurion era.
