Listen "Jesus Saves International Sunday School Lesson Highlight, Practice Justice, Jeremiah 21: 8-14."
Episode Synopsis
Jesus Saves Ministries Louisville brings together the people of God and the Word of God for informative highlights of the International Sunday School lessons. My guest today is the First Lady of Breaking The Chains Baptist Church, Louisville, Kentucky, Sis. In these uncertain times of a global Covid-19 pandemic, as cities and states re-open, we all have important choices to make, choices of life and death. The lesson today encourages us to do justice and choose life. The lesson examines two of the three responses the prophet Jeremiah gives to King Zedekiah, the last king of Judah before their captivity. King Zedekiah sent a delegation to Jeremiah asking him to ask God to perform a miracle and stay the hand of the Babylonians. God replied through Jeremiah 1) to the king (1-7, not in the printed text); to the people (8-10); and to the royal house of David (11-14). We learn that evil will not go unpunished. God is a God of justice. We ought to stand up for the vulnerable and oppressed, and choose life. To choose life ultimately is to choose Jesus Christ who is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6), who has come that we might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10) Jesus saves!
