What does it mean to yield to God?
To yield is to endeavor to resist our sinfulness and choose the Holy Spirit’s direction in our lives.  In other words, we do what God advises us to do, rather than what we want to do.  We turn our back on temptation and doubt and follow God’s righteous direction.  To yield to God is to give right of way to God. 
The reason this is an endeavor is that we as human beings are incapable of resisting temptation 100% of the time. Which is the whole point of Christ covering our sins with His salvation.  Yay!
The Holy Spirit says to you:
“There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear.”
