CRAIC AGUS CEOL is an Irish expression meaning live music and having fun.

I hope this tribute to Irish music brings you the excitement and good times that live Irish music brings about. Ireland is a medium-sized island of over 7 million people. Despite that, its worldwide cultural influence in literature and music has outweighed its size.

Like islands such as Cuba, Jamaica and Great Britain, its musical contribution has been extraordinary. These four islands are important musical Meccas. Mestizo Sounds has already made programmes on the music of Cuba, Jamaica’s paramount record label Studio One or about the Mods youth musical movement in Great Britain.

Now, this show wants to present some of the Irish great talents. You will listen to traditional and modern music and a blend of both.

Craic Agus Cell is in the memory of Shane McGowan and Sinead O’Connor.
