Listen "2 Ways Growers Can Reduce Nitrogen Cost"

Episode Synopsis

The price of nitrogen is soaring with no end in sight. The cost of liquid UAN 32 is more than a dollar per pound. Dry urea is approaching that price too.
Compared to a year ago, retail fertilizer prices show all fertilizers have increased significantly, with several having well over 100% price increases. For example, 10-34-0 is now 71% more expensive, MAP is 72% higher, DAP is 79% more expensive, potash is 119% higher, urea is 148% more expensive, UAN32 is 171% higher, UAN28 179% is more costly, and anhydrous is 204% higher compared to last year.
Managing nitrogen costs this year will make or break your season. This week Aric Olson, President of Jain Irrigation, Inc., shows us two relatively inexpensive ways to reduce nitrogen costs and maximize profits this year.
In this session, you will learn:

The role timing plays in the application of fertilizer
The best times of the year to apply nitrogen
What technologies help ensure the most efficient use of nitrogen
How nitrogen costs impact your bottom line
