On April 25th, 2022, the Minister for Grand Bahama, and Member of Parliament for the Pineridge Constituency, Hon. Ginger Moxey, sat down with DJ Money and Sasha Pinder on 102.7 FM’s segment, ‘Run Ya Mouth’ to talk about what has been done, what is ongoing and future plans for Grand Bahama Island
Minister Moxey energetically and convincingly spoke of significant initiatives in the pipeline for the island of Grand Bahama, and highlighted some of the projects already executed. As Grand Bahama is poised to become the Home of Events & Entertainment, Home of Innovation, and the Home of Maritime & Logistics, the Minister for Grand Bahama painted a very optimistic and reassuring picture of her vision for the future of this island. She noted plans for restoration and revitalization of The International Bazaar, Downtown Area, and other historical and culturally-rich locations.
Minister Moxey announced that by the end of this month, the final buyer for The Grand Lucayan Hotel will be selected. The Grand Bahama International Airport, deemed priority number one, closes its Requests for Proposals in May. Groundbreaking for Carnival cruise port is also slated for May.
The Minister for Grand Bahama and Member of Parliament for the Pineridge Constituency has committed to establishing an ecosystem where EVERY Grand Bahamian is positively impacted through new vendor opportunities, cultural experiences, entrepreneurial initiatives, a vast resurgence in the tourism industry.
The Ministry for Grand Bahama is a project-based unit, focused on action, results, execution. Through partnerships, the goal of the Minister for Grand Bahama is to create new opportunities for Grand Bahamians, and provide the support to ensure that they excel and generate wealth while doing what they love.
In keeping with the core mandates of the Ministry for Grand Bahama, ‘Collab’, ‘Beautiful Grand Bahama’ and ‘Empower Grand Bahama’ were established. Minister Moxey has dedicated her unyielding efforts to a community-based agenda with a ‘trickle down’ effect to empower and give hope.
