Listen "Something Old, Something New: Scripture Interpreting Scripture"
Episode Synopsis
A common element of Protestant interpretation is that scripture interprets scripture. This means we look to the Bible to help clarify and interpret itself. More specifically, we often look at how the Bible quotes and uses its prior revelation to create new texts. While this is often seen in the New Testament quoting or using the Old Testament, we can also talk about how the Old Testament uses the Old Testament. By understanding this phenomenon, we can see how the faithful used and brought anew the revelation of God to each generation.
