Listen "Episode 27: Michela"
Episode Synopsis
This week, we’re joined by Michela — a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), trauma therapist, eating disorder specialist, and spirituality coach whose story is one of profound transformation. Raised in a conservative Christian fundamentalist community, Michela spent years “in the closet” about her loss of faith, afraid of rejection from the people closest to her.She eventually shut down her spiritual side entirely, believing she had to abandon all connection to the sacred in order to survive. But ten years later, she began to rediscover spirituality outside of religion — this time, on her own terms. Now fully “out” as an ex-Christian, Michela is using her voice to support others in healing religious trauma, recovering their spiritual selves, and learning not to “throw the baby out with the bathwater.”In this episode, we dive deep into how religious trauma impacts the nervous system, the courage it takes to reclaim your story, and how spirituality can still be meaningful after deconstruction. Michela’s work is a guiding light for anyone seeking wholeness outside the walls of organized religion.Michela's Linkshttps://linktr.ee/michelagiordanocastro?fbclid=PAZXh0bgNhZW0CMTEAAaco1hfblkJLfAKIf8iQAWG0NnLLnLX3c1HXGNUqzaLI3LMgk3K-tGxXTtuegw_aem_kX-69wttRZXLolQBd_T-5g@intheblackprojectintheblackproject
