Hello and welcome to Improvised Music in Kingston, a podcast that explores the thoughts and music of a group of local musicians who are situated across various genres and who all incorporate improvisation as part of their practice. I am your host Paul Clifford. The show focuses on questions of improvising as individuals, improvising in a group, and what aspects of living in Kingston have impact on these experiences. Interview audio on these themes is matched with live music that the group members recorded during 2021-2023. This podcast is part of a Research-Creation project in Cultural Studies from Queen’s University.
