Listen "What is the last step in problem solving? "
Episode Synopsis
What is the last step in problem solving?
Well, I would say that it is solution implementation. Here's why. At the end of the day, we've got, we think we've come up with a solution, but if we don't know how to actually implement that solution, then we haven't effectively solved the problem. And I think there are four things that we can consider when it comes to solution implementation as part of problem solving.
Number one, you wanna think of what are the foreseeable obstacles? You know, those roadblocks that you can see that are probably likely to stop you from actually implementing this solution. Is it something to do with the money? Is it something to do with people? Is it something to do with the equipment and so on?
Get them really clear.
The second part is to have a contingency plan. If this doesn't work, what are we gonna do next? The clearer we are of having a, if this, then that plan, the easier it will be to implement the solution.
The third part is constructable. How do we make [00:01:00] it easier to construct or to implement this actual idea, making it clear about what things we'll need, who will need, how long it will take, and sort get that sorted. And you're almost there.
And the fourth part is outsourceable. Is it possible to get someone else to do this, to implement the solution in order to get things done? Could they do it cheaper, more effectively with higher quality, with less dramas? So there you go. Four ways that you can look at actually implementing your idea in order to solve a problem.
The last stage of problem solving.
