Amanda Assalone was born in South Korea, but was adopted into the Assalone family at 3 months and grew up in Tulsa Oklahoma. Amanda works in higher education in research and teaching capacities. During her time in her doctoral program, she began growing an interest in how to advise specifically Asian students and this led to exploring her ethnic roots. Amanda tells us about her personal life story as an adoptee, but also gives us a more macro level view of Korean adoptees in general.
