Frederick Murphy, aka "Murph", is the founder and artistic creator of the project, History Before Us. Murph is a licensed therapist who used the canvas of the United States to get back to the thing that he really loved to do...which was creating oral histories by interviewing people on  their specified experience during Jim Crow. Since then, he has used his belief in the power of storytelling to invest in the lives of others. He doesn't use travel solely as a recreational piece, but he travels with purpose and the intent to keep history alive.
