MP of the National People's Power Dr. Harini Amarasuriya says that the current government was elected on a different mandate compared to the one prevalent today, emphasising that the current government doesn't have the consent of the people to proceed with the reforms and decisions being implemented now.
She made these remarks whilst speaking to Indeewari Amuwatte 'At HydePark' on Ada Derana 24 during a panel discussion today.
Joining the panel discussion State Minister of Tourism Diana Gamage however, denied Dr Amarasuriya's remarks stating that the government cannot seek the opinion of all 22 million people in the country as it would not provide any significant progress in making decisions.
