Episode Synopsis

Nadja is an accomplished scientific and conference professional with 20+ years of international experience in private, government and the non-profit sector of established and start-up organisations. She studied Medical Laboratory Science in Auckland, NZ then travelled abroad to London with the intention of moving into diagnostic sales.
With some valuable laboratory and sales experience under her belt, she then transferred to Lugano, Switzerland in 1997 and took a 2-year sabbatical to perfect her Italian, before settling into a role of medical marketing at Actamed Services for the next 8 years.
Her studies in Diagnostic Microbiology enabled her transition seamlessly into Medical Association Conferencing with the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology in 2010. During her 8 years with the Academy, she successfully led the Scientific Department and oversaw the implementation of the new scientific programme format. Her proudest moment was seeing numbers of delegates hit a record 13,000 during her last conference there.
Currently she is an integral member of the Conference and Events team at Auckland University of Technology, NZ and has led a variety of International and Trans-Tasman Conferences, as well as the highly profiled ‘APEC Voices of the Future’ event during APEC Leaders week. She is also keen on helping others progress within the industry and has recently participated in both the NZ Events Association (NZEA) and Women in Events mentorship programmes.
COVID-19 certainly hasn’t stopped her! Her interest in new technologies and their applications has now shifted to virtual conferencing and the various video conferencing platforms that make online events more interactive.
