Listen "Contentment"
Episode Synopsis
Have you noticed that the word “content” can be pronounced and used differently? For example, “I felt content when I’d gathered enough content to write this devotion.” Contentment and content (the things) are definitely related. If I have things to do, I’m not bored. If I have enough friends, I’m not lonely. If I have enough savings and health, I’m not anxious. But often we don’t have enough of this “content” to actually feel content. It’s easy to forget the other, better “content” we have: the daily presence of our Lord (Matthew 28:20); His power at work in us (Ephesians 3:20); an eternal home with Him (John 14:2-3) and so much more. This “content” may seem intangible, but it’s more real and lasting than anything else. It brings unshakeable contentment.
